Second Sight Friday Night

Who can really be expected to adjust so quickly to a different schedule over night anyways. For people actually reading this blog in real time you may have noticed some gaps. Yes some entries are post dated but that is really for everyone’s good. Occasionally I really have to reflect on my day to really paint the picture of what is going on. We truly are doing a lot of work here, honestly.

“Now where was I”:
Ah yes, I was invited a few days ago to go to this “Second Nature” show thing tonight if you remember Alice. So that was on the schedule plan to do. Our pool party person was also throwing some sort of house party too so we wanted to get to that. Before all the night things could take place we had to wake up.

Yes we did sleep in late but the business, the fun, all the above was at night. We woke up and went into town for (you guessed it FOOD). I had to try food from Subway just once before I left for home. If their food is high quality in the states, imagine the taste when it is 100% organic.

I loved it, but it was expensive. Instead of five-dollar-foot-long, it was more like 7Euro foot long which is almost ten bucks. Yikes. But it was worth the experience.

Interestingly enough, once we left the restaurant, we ran into some people from Madison, Wisconsin. I was super confused because Josh was talking to them in French at first but one person was super quiet…almost as if he did not understand what was going on either. We finally broke the silence with English. And I found out this group of students was from UW. Small world right?

We strolled about Aix for a bit to this fountain. There was a little boy there chasing the pigeons. His mom, looked like she could be his sister, and he looked like he was so happy to be young. A group of tourist showed up so we started to move along, but not before I could chase a pigeon myself. Curious how such a small act of chasing a bird and making it fly away can make an impact.

My pocket camera had just ran out of batteries so we ran quickly to the camera store to buy new AA batteries. We got there just in time before they closed.

Back to the house, and one power nap later it got superb chilly and dark outside, but we needed to check a public park for our movie shoot the next day. So we went to see if the carousel was still installed and it was gone! (which meant that tomorrow we would have to find a new children’s park or playground to film at for the movie).

There were a bunch of people having a good-‘ol time at the park. A violinist, someone playing the bongos, and dancing about. I didn’t take pictures just because I didn’t want to overstep boundaries. We talked to one tall fellow for a while and found out that this party in the park was filled with musicians going to school. Whereas in fact, he was studying “Musicology” himself. So I gave him my business card, a CD and a brochure, and told him to be sure to contact me. (I really hope he does).

We had a lot of other things to get to. Second Nature DJ show and the house party event for the person who is hosting the pool party. We got to the ‘Second Nature’ show and got in for a discount since we know the promoter. saved almost 20 Euro. As soon as we got in I knew, this is where I wanted to book Swagu or Radish. It was the perfect venue, nice stage big dance floor. Now all we had to do was make contact with Marc Houssen again.

We bumped into the DJ from last night and I purchased some wine for all three of us. He is a very nice guy. We found Marc and shook his hand once again, his sincereness is what makes him a good promoter. So big thanks to Alice for putting us in touch.

We left shortly after and ran into our DJ friend again. We spoke briefly about perhaps importing him to the U.S. and he seemed happy about that. Exchanged “Le Bise” with him which helped establish a real connection.

Now we had to get to the other side of town to meet Marious and he said he would meet us near the fountain. While waiting a group of three ladies approached, friends of Josh. We all talked for 15minutes. Again giving away CDs. Marious showed up and told us he couldn’t get the pool party location. So we were just out of luck. We had to get back home for the shoot early in the morning so we headed back, got some late night snacks and went to bed.
