Time Zones

I have many no real qualms with being a man of the world. But I do miss my girl, and all my friends. Today I did some window shopping and it made me think of my daughter. I think time zones, and global potions play an important role in international communications, having the ability to adapt to different locations quickly is an important asset. I wish I could show my kid more of the world so perhaps she will begin to learn more languages and cultures.

I started my day by following an important instinct, hunger. I traveled solo this time as Josh was in a college exam most of the morning. I found a place with really good food and as luck would have it I got to meet an entertainer. Her name is Alice and I think she may be able to introduce me to a good promoter. We exchanged contact information, and I gave her a CD.

Shortly after I got a phone call from Josh, he was done with his test and we wanted to rendezvous. This time, I knew where I was and how to meet him. We met by the Town Hall in Aix-En-Provence. He taught how quick sketch, and then we went shopping for children’s clothing. We were then enticed to buy more, but haggling is not common to Aix. Everything is super high fashion.

Later we were invited for over to the home of an aspiring film maker’s home. Her parents seemed very supported of her endeavors. Her father is a French teacher and her mother spoke Portuguese. So she has a unique chance to be bilingual if not trilingual, as her english was also really quite good. Their home was absolutely beautiful. Filled with books and high ceilings. Josh showed the family a clip of the film and we talked for about an hour despite the slight language barrier.

I learned how to correctly pronounce “Ivan Lins,” and we even discussed a little music theory since our aspiring film maker, Elouise is also a piano player. We left there and arrived to a nice crêpe dinner. We put so many crêpe sandwiches together, filled with small pickles and ham, to kiwi, and honey. Très très Yummy!

The rest of the night was used to study. I helped Josh by staying up with him prepare for his last exam for the week. I went out to a bowling ally and promoted Radish the DJ, after which I went to a couple bars. Everything in the city was closed or closing. So I headed back to the home.

Josh was still up studying and said he was going to pull an all nighter. A few episodes of “House” later I was asleep, only to be awoken by my WeChat application from my friends in China. We began to talk about time zones since I am currently closer to them locationally. Interesting how global positioning plays a role in communication.
